New takes on the standard birthday page spice things up. Sometimes looking at your birthday page from a new angle is all it takes to make a unique layout. Instead of documenting only the gifts and guests, include more. Ask each person at the party what they think of the guest! You might get some fun answers to include in the journaling!
- Look Around. Do you celebrate each birthday with a special cake platter? Has that punch bowl been passed down through the generations? Doyou have your parties inside or outside each year? Include your personal customs and why you do them into your photography and journaling.
- Ask What do You Think? Does the guest of honor have some advice for the younger set? Include a list wise of "10 best tips for aging well" or spoof the concept of advice with "Five things NOT to say to a person celebrating their 50th" If the birthday girl or boy is under ge 8, ask their advice for living a long time. Kids say the darndest things!
- Don't Forget the Cards! Include a pocket for the cards. Or collage the best parts of the card sentiments onto a page. A little archival spray will insure that they last on the layout.
- Got Sparkles? Save a little of the confetti, sparkly bows, or gift wrap. Add them into the page layout as borders, shaker accents, or copy them for personalized background paper.
- Photograph the Hands: Gifts are about giving. Photograph the open hands of the giver of each gift. From young to old, these shots are precious! Be sure to take notes on whose hands are in which frame on the film.
- Enjoy! Most of all enjoy the party. A joyous heart makes both a better photographer and a happier guest of honor. Have some cake on e!
Happy Birthday Celebration and Happy Scrapping!
